Scope of Practice:
Our Board Certified Optometric Physicians specialize in determining the need for spectacle glasses, contact lenses & the treatment of eye diseases. Consultation with your Primary Care Physician may be necessary when medical conditions arise that may affect your visual system or your overall general health.
General Visual Analysis – This includes comprehensive examination of your eyes to determine the presence of ocular pathology, muscle imbalance, cataracts, glaucoma, and the need for spectacle or contact lens correction.
Fashion Eyewear – Our office provides a large selection of fashion and designer eyewear for the entire family. This includes spectacle glasses for home, work and recreation. "We have the frame and lens package that is right for you."
Contact Lenses – This includes both the fitting and follow-up care required to insure an optimum fit. In this fitting, we offer the latest technology in contact lenses including astigmatism correction, multifocal, and color contacts.
Children’s Vision – A healthy visual system is essential for optimal achievement at school. Our assessment includes a vision and health evaluation as well as a determination of focusing ability, depth perception, and color vision. We also determine how well the eyes coordinate with each other. This data is analyzed and a visual prescription is administered which will allow your child to excel at school!
Computer Eye Strain – A major source of eye fatigue and discomfort in today’s workplace is the computer monitor. Computer Vision Syndrome is one of the fastest growing vision disorders today. Spectacle lenses may be purchased with special designs to maximize visual comfort during extended computer usage.
Safety Eyewear – Eyewear meeting Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards is an essential necessity in certain workplace environments. Modern sports goggles and safety glasses with side shields for home and shop use are available.For active individuals, appropriate eyewear is needed to maximize vision and minimize the risk of eye injury. We offer eyewear specifically designed for fishing, boating, playing golf, and other active outdoor sports.
As We Age – As early as the age of 40, difficulties with near vision may be noticed. Specific testing is performed to determine individual needs at all distances and custom lenses such as progressives, bifocals, and trifocals are prescribed as needed.
Cataracts are another aging change which affects our eye sight. Anti-Glare and Ultraviolet Protection are indicated and are always recommended to improve vision and comfort as cataracts progress. Specific testing is performed to determine when cataract surgery is necessary.
Vision Care Insurance – We are providers for well known vision care plans and accept VSP, VCP/Compbenefits Humana, Eyemed, Davis, Tricare, BCBS, Aetna, UHC, Superior, St. Johns County School Board, Medicare, and Medicaid, as well as other discount plans. We also accept Flex Spending, Health Savings Account, and other tax-free health benefit accounts.
